I’ve been an entrepreneur for just about my entire professional life…over 20 years without a boss!
In that time, I’ve started and run businesses in multiple industries, raised venture capital, raised friends and family money, bought businesses, sold businesses, been recognized in the INC 5000 list of fastest growing companies three times, been recognized as a ‘Best Places to Work’, failed miserably, been nearly bankrupt several times, been taken to court a few times…you get the picture! I’ve been around!
You can’t help but pick up a few really helpful things along the way.
Here are some of my favorite resources I’ve found or created that help me start and run businesses with a greater likelihood of success versus failure! 🙂
The 'How to Make the Right Decision Every Time' Framework
A critical part of being successful as an entrepreneur is making good decisions on important issues.
But how do you make good decisions?
I’ve found that having a framework to help me is critical. Watch the video above and click the button below to access the Google Doc with templates.
Develop Your Personal Criteria to Evaluate Business Opportunities
Deciding to start a business is a long-term decision with huge impact on your life – so you should be thoughtful about it.
There are all kinds of traditional metrics to use to evaluate an opportunity, but in my experience it’s just as important to have personal criteria as well.
I’ve also developed a series of questions that will help guide you during this process.
The Tools We Use & Recommend
We get asked which tools we use to run our business all the time – you’ll find them below.
We have tested and used every recommendation on this page in our businesses.
Before digging in to the resources we know and trust, an important disclosure:
Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, we will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you and is part of how we generate revenue.
It’s important to us that you know that we recommend them because they are useful to us and to many others, not because of the small commissions we make if you decide to buy something.
Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them and that they will help you achieve your goals.
ClickFunnels is a leading tool for setting up landing pages and funnels. This was the core marketing platform for our business and is still a fantastic choice. The education they provide is worth the cost of entry alone!
Disclosure: I am an independent ClickFunnels Affiliate, not an employee. I receive referral payments from ClickFunnels. The opinions expressed here are my own and are not official statements of ClickFunnels or its parent company, Etison LLC.
We use ConnectAutomate to automate the creation of Facebook Ad campaigns based on rules we establish – saving us a ton of time and ensuring that our most engaging content gets as much visibility as possible. This is a lifesaver of a tool for anyone doing frequent content marketing campaigns.
Clickmagick is the tool that I’ve used the longest BY FAR. I’ve been using it since day one of doing online marketing, and I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it. It’s truly a Swiss Army Knife, but it’s biggest value to me is simply in allowing me to cloak and easily redirect links. If you do any affiliate marketing or promotion of a variety of offers, it’s a MUST!
Some or all of the links above are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, we will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you.
Please understand that we have experience with all of these companies, and we recommend them because we use them and believe in them, not because of the small commissions we make if you decide to buy something.
