Make Important Decisions in Your Peak State

Share your love

What’s up everybody it’s Mike.

I just want to share just one really practical and powerful lesson from the Tony Robbins’ event.

It’s been such an incredible experience and I wanted to share one thing that can have a huge impact for all of you. That’s the idea of making sure that you only make decisions and particularly important decisions where you’re in a really good, powerful state.

Being in a peak state

This is something that I’ve been aware of over the last three months or six months or so in my personal life. I realized if I didn’t get a good night’s sleep then I will be in a bad place when I wake up. I will be in a bad kind of mentally and emotional state for the day.

Thus, I literally refuse to make any important decisions that day. I will just punt those decisions later on.

Then I didn’t realize that that was going to be one of the most important things that Tony Robbins teaches. It is that if you’re making decisions from a bad state, from a bad physiological and emotional state, you’re going to make bad decisions.

You’re going to make decisions that are not as effective as you would make if you made those decisions in a good state.

And as entrepreneurs, we’re making these decisions all the time that can have a huge impact on our business and on our lives. If you’re making that decision from a place of stress, anxiety, and negativity it’s potentially costing you way too much. Those decisions are too important to make from that place.

How to make sure you’re in a good state

Each one of us has our own ways of doing things. Tonny Robins, on the other hand, teaches an incredibly effective way. He says that there are three main drivers of your state.

One is your physiology, your body.

Two is your mental focus. Are you focusing on something negative or positive? Or focusing on gratitude? How about scarcity? Something along with those questions.

Third, is your language.

But he says that by far, the most powerful and fastest way to change your state is your physiology. To do something physical, particularly, something that lights you up.

It is like when you put on your favorite songs, crank the volume and jump up and down or go on a hike or exercise or swimming, these kinds of activities that will get you going.

Whatever it is that you do that puts you in a better place, mood, and state of mind, make sure that you’re doing that.

You should do that regularly to make sure that you are in a peak state when you’re making those decisions. I think this is so critical for your business life, your personal life.

Always do everything in peak state

For those of you with kids, ever think about those days when you’re not in a really good mood and your kids are just being kids, but you snap at them and lose it because you’re not in a good place. You’re letting a negative state impact your behavior with your kids. Which we’ve all done.

The same thing is true with your business, with your primary relationships, and all other related matters.

So always, always do everything that you possibly can to make sure that you’re in a good, powerful, healthy state before you make any important decisions.

I’m being conscious of that going forward. I think it’s one of the most powerful lessons that I’ll take from this. And I think it is one of the most powerful lessons that we can all employ in our lives.

I hope this serves you well. For me, I’ll make sure I get enough sleep despite being up for almost 16 hours a day everyday. It is intense being a content creator with a tight schedule.
